Player Ratings for Liverpool and Man City in Premier League Big Match: The Reds spread their wings as expected, easily beating them 2-0

Few people would have thought that Man City had the right to come and collect points at Anfield, given their form in the last 6 games. Where they have not been able to win against anyone, and some said that Liverpool would win by a large margin. But the results were as expected. The Reds are currently too strong for anyone to handle. Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah, the old favorites, scored a goal each, pulling away from the Sky Blues by a reasonable 11 points.

Liverpool Player Ratings

Caoimhin Kelleher – 7 – It was a similar first half to last where there was little to do. With City failing to have a shot on target in the first 45 minutes. But making some good saves in the second half. Such as Kevin De Bruyne’s one-on-one effort which was denied by Kelleher.

Andrew Robertson – 7 – He was comfortable, coordinated well in defense, added to the attacking game effectively, and even made dangerous passes, such as early in the second half. When he passed to Gakpo, whose shot was saved by Ortega.

Virgil van Dijk – 7 – Almost scored the opener ten minutes in but his header hit the post and almost added a second in the 19th minute but his effort went wide. Defensively, while still mostly good, there was a late scare when Kevin De Bruyne almost conceded a goal.

Joe Gomez – 8 – Was an option ahead of Jarrell Quansah and had a good first half, shutting down Haaland and not making a mistake in the second half. It was one of his better games.

Trent Alexander-Arnold – 8 – Liverpool are envious of having two good right backs. Bradley was not there and the original owner, Trent, played brilliantly. Good defense and dangerous offense. The only problem is that he is not ready to play the full 90 minutes.

Ryan Gravenberch – 8 – Despite playing continuously without pause. The Dutch midfielder’s strength has not diminished at all. Running around and managing the สมัคร ufabet game in the middle of the field with determination, playing a key role in the clear victory over City in the middle of the field.

Dominik Szoboszlai – 7 – Came on for Curtis Jones and showed off his skills in the first half, being involved in the game a lot. But unfortunately he had 2-3 chances to finish himself, but could not score.

Alexis Mac Allister – 7 – Played to a high standard as usual. Although not particularly impressive he was part of the Reds’ midfield mix which kept City in check.

Cody Gakpo – 7 – After his first shot was ruled offside, he quickly opened the scoring 1-0 just 12 minutes later. He charged in front of the goal and had 3-4-5 chances to follow. But if he had been a little sharper, it would have gone a long way.

Luis Diaz – 7 – Played as the center forward, but he wasn’t always there. He dropped back to get the ball, but in the first half his coordination with his teammates wasn’t smooth. In the second half he didn’t play much. However, he snatched the ball and rushed in to get a penalty from Ortega.

Mohamed Salah – 8 – Had a big role in the first half from providing a nice pass to Gakpo to make it 1-0 and then harassing the visitors’ defense, particularly Nathan Ake, throughout after that. But what he lacked was a finishing chance of his own. Especially in the 56th minute, when he stole the ball and broke free but shot over the bar. However, he still managed to make it 2-0 from the penalty spot.

Man City Player Ratings

Stefan Ortega – 6 – Came on for the late Ederson but quickly conceded a goal after the first ten minutes. Didn’t have many saves from him but did have some important saves early in the second half. When he blocked a Gakpo shot. However, he eventually gave away a penalty when he brought Luis Diaz down from the leg.

Nathan Ake – 5 – Had a tough time facing Mo Salah almost every 5 minutes and couldn’t keep up. No personal mistakes but didn’t help the team.

Ruben Dias – 4 – Made a return to the starting line-up after a month out. But it seemed too soon and he was struggling to keep up with the home side’s attacks. Losing the ball easily leading to a penalty and 2-0.

Manuel Akanji – 5 – Didn’t make the same mistakes as Dias. But didn’t make any real impact either, and couldn’t keep out the home side’s attacks.

Kyle Walker – 4 – While he was okay on the ground, he was not good in the air, and this was an area where Liverpool were able to lock onto the target almost every time they were given a set piece.

Rico Lewis – 5 – As usual, he was a box-to-box player and created City’s first finishing chance late in the first half in the 39th minute, but his shot was wide of the mark. From there, it was all about hard work and lack of quality.

Ilkay Gundogan – 4 – Played regularly when options were limited, but it was clear that he could not compete with the home side’s midfield, a blemish in the midfield where Liverpool were soft throughout the game.

Matheus Nunes – 4 – Like other midfield options, he was not only not useful today. He was also a bit of a threat and did not help the Reds’ midfield game any better.

Phil Foden – 3 – He has been heavily criticized for his form, which he is not the same person as before. In the first half of this game, it was true that Foden lost the ball very easily and could not do anything when he had the ball. Until the second half, when his form did not improve, he was taken off as usual.

Bernardo Silva – 3 – One of the worst performances from the Portuguese midfielder. Didn’t have much of an impact in the first half other than making short passes and making runs in midfield. Lost the ball easily in the second half and almost conceded a second goal.

Erling Braut Haaland – 4 – Another one who had a forgettable game, where the ball never came, I repeat, never came, he kept passing him around and he couldn’t create any chances himself.

reserve

Savinho (replaced Gundogan in the 57th minute) – 4 – Didn’t come on and make any use of the Brazilian winger’s tactics, which didn’t work on the home team at all.

Jeremy Doku (replaced Nunes 57′) – 4 – Like Savinho, he didn’t really do anything, just made runs up the wing.

Kevin De Bruyne (on for Lewis 79′) – 5 – Stole the ball from Van Dijk and was alone after just a few minutes, but was unable to keep Kelleher at bay as the Irishman was quick to close the angle.

Jack Grealish (on for Foden 79′) – 5 – Had no impact on the final ten minutes of the game, only had a handful of touches.
